KEYNOTE SPEAKER: WENDY MAYBURY

Comedian, Mom, and Speaker

Wendy Maybury started stand-up comedy as a way to fight the winter blues and make friends when she moved to the Twin Cities about a decade ago. Since then she has recorded her first Album “She’s Not From Around Here” on Stand Up Records, won several contests and started a Mom Comedy Show called Day Drinking with Mom. She is also mom to a rambunctious redhead, Grayson.

She loves to talk with Moms about finding humor in the everyday experiences that would drive you nuts if you don’t look for the humor. She believes humor can deepen connections and help you cope when life gets hard. She is a fierce advocate for being honest about the challenges of motherhood while remembering what a gift it is to raise little humans. This session is guaranteed to make your cheeks hurt and make you excited about squeezing your kids again.

BREAKOUT SESSION 1 –8:00AM

1A Yoga with Rachel Hjart

Diastasis recti. Many of you are too familiar with this term and maybe some of you have never heard it. Do you have a pooch that seems to worsen as the day gets longer? Or do you find yourself peeing when you laugh or exercise? These are symptoms of a weak pelvic floor and abdominal walls. These are not symptoms we need to live with! They can all be strengthened and healed with mindful movement. Come to class as a newbie or experienced yogi and we’ll learn about our core and pelvic floor.  You’ll learn the beginning steps of movement to reduce abdominal separation and leave with a sense of full body strength and mental clarity.

About Rachel:

I am a 200 RYT and have been practicing yoga for 15 years. I teach Hatha, vinyasa and prenatal yoga. I am a mom of 3 and believe everyone has something to benefit from a regular yoga practice.  I would love to help you find your path!  Find me on Facebook at Rachel Hjart Yoga.

1B Nature Reserve Walk

Weather permitting, enjoy a calming or energizing (you pick) walk through the MN Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The path is located right outside the hotel’s front door.
